- Lucas created the tires (computer-optimized high-void all-terrain pattern with interlocking tread blocks) to increase traction and reduce noise
- Lucas added in jet engines, which are hidden unless a button on the dash is pressed.
Current Era AppearancesEdit
The van is modified by Lucas Spitz, including homemade tires and flaming jet engines. On a trip to the dessert, Vincent Mariano drives the van, with Lucas, Paul Rockwell and Barry Divo as passengers. Vinny guns the engine, getting over 100 mph. Then he tests out the jet engines, which shoot the van over 250 mph across the dessert. Unfortunately, the van is uncontrollable at that point, and smashes through a perimeter fence on an NEC nuclear testing zone. The foursome travel through a nuclear test, and gain superhuman powers. The van runs out of fuel and crashes into a sand dune. After the newly founded D.O.P.E. team fight off an NEC Strike Team, Barry, who is now Flambé, pushes the van with the 3 others inside, out of the dessert using his fire-powered flight ability. (D.O.P.E. Volume 2, Number 1)
Initial EraEditIn the Initial Era, the van started out as a normal van, in which the four main characters were travelling (in "D.O.P.E." Volume 1, Number 1). After driving into a nuclear bomb testing area, the van changed along with the characters. The van was transformed into a flying rocket propelled craft with guns and missiles (in "D.O.P.E." Volume 1, Number 2). The van was destroyed after Jelly gummed up the engine and it crashed into the ground (in "D.O.P.E." Volume 1, Number 3).
The van shows up in the background of the cover for "Mr. Fabulous" Number 2 (1995).
